Discovering what Alberta has to offer in the southernmost region of the province is an invitation to explore. The main terrain in Alberta’s south is comprised mostly of prairie land. To the west, however, lies the beginning of the Canadian Rockies. Some of the larger cities in southern Alberta are Lethbridge and Medicine Hat. The area, which has always been involved in agricultural production, is starting to extend into producing alternative energy. Southern Alberta also has started attracting the attention of film production and tourism. Waterton Lake’s National Park and Cypress Hills Interprovincal Park are treats to explore. Other notable attractions in the area are the Dinosaur Provincial Park and the Head-Smash-In-Buffalo Jump, both steeped in the history of Alberta.
