Northern Alberta is the province’s most lucrative area regarding the oil and gas industry. This area is home to some of the province’s natural wonders and includes Aspen Parkland, which is found in the southern area of northern Alberta, while the Boreal Forest and Muskeg are located in the north. The south west division of northern Alberta is part of the Peace Country, which also crosses into the North eastern sector of British Columbia. Peace Country has some of Alberta’s most prosperous ranch and farmland, all of which are spread out along Peace River. The endangered woodland caribou of Northern Alberta are protected in the Caribou Mountain Wild Land Park, effectively keeping them from extinction. Wood Buffalo National Park, also part of northern Alberta, serves as Canada’s largest protected area. Northern Alberta is truly a haven for nature enthusiasts.
